Call objective:

Call for submitting offers to support outstandingly talented students in the development of their scientific activity, innovation, creativity, by supporting their participation in international competitions, contests and conferences.

General terms:

• A university with an exceptionally gifted student / students forming a team may apply for funding.
• Financial support may be allocated, in particular, to finance student’s participation in international competitions, contests and conferences.
• As part of the selection proceedings, support may be granted to students who meet all of the following conditions:
  • are students of 1st / 2nd degree studies of the university that submits the application (offers may be processed by inter-university teams after indicating the university responsible for the offer);
  • have documented knowledge of at least one foreign language at a level not lower than B2 (confirmed in particular by the teacher's declaration on the level of the student's foreign language proficiency or a certificate confirming the knowledge of a foreign language);
  • have a positive opinion of a tutor or supervisor of a research club on the current scientific activity.
• The project implementation period may not exceed 11 months and may not exceed the date of January 31, 2022.
• The amount of financial resources allocated to eligible expenditure under the project is 100%.
• The cost of implementing one project may not exceed:
• PLN 80,000.00 - for a project implemented by one student;
• PLN 320,000.00 - for a project implemented by a team of students.
• Direct costs include:
  • travel expenses and fees for participation in competitions, contests and international conferences;
  • costs related to the substantive preparation of candidates to participate in competitions, contests and international conferences;
  • expenses incurred in order to facilitate the implementation of tasks included in the project by students with disabilities;
  • purchase of materials and services directly related to the purpose of the competition, contests, international conferences (expenditure of the purchase of materials may not exceed 10% of the total direct costs of the project).
• Indirect costs are 5% of direct project costs.
• In order to avoid double financing, the project cannot finance the costs of tasks currently performed by the university, where the student studies, financed from the state budget for the education of full-time students and from European funds.
• VAT is an eligible cost - please include gross amounts in the project budget.

Deadline for submission of applications (bids) to MEiN:

March 15, 2021.

Form of submitting applications:

MEiN requires submitting applications only in electronic form. The application (offer) should be submitted as an electronic document on the application form, as defined by the Act of 17 February 2005 on computerization of the activities of entities performing public tasks (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 346).

Therefore, the application in electronic form will be sent by CAWP (via ePUAP) only after approval of the JU authorities on the final version of the application. Information on approval of the application by the JU authorities will be provided to you by the CAWP call supervisor.

The submitted offer must be accompanied by:

• power of attorney for the person authorized to represent the university and sign the offer (will be provided by CAWP);
• project cost estimate (prepared according to the MEiN formula);
• student's CV (prepared according to the MEiN model);
• student's declaration of consent to the processing of personal data for the purposes of the offer evaluation process, granting co-financing (MEiN template) and implementation of the project’s agreement;
• a document confirming the student's knowledge of at least one foreign language at a level not lower than B2 (certified in particular by the teacher's declaration on the student's level of foreign language proficiency or a
• certificate confirming the knowledge of a foreign language);
• a copy of the document confirming the disability - for students who intend to take priority in the selection in case they are among the best candidates

JU Internal Regulations:

Pursuant to the JU Vice-Rector’s Regulation No. 56 of 11 July 2016 on:  Regulations for the preparation and implementation of projects financed from external sources at the Jagiellonian University, units/persons interested in participating in the competition, please submit to CAWP:

• by 5 March 2021:
  • Education Project Notification Form completed and submitted in the electronic system of the Jagiellonian University Project Zone, available at: https://strefaprojektow.uj.edu.pl/. Instruction how to complete the forms is available at the following website: https://cawp.uj.edu.pl/strefaprojektow,
  • Working version of application (electronic version of the application in  PDF file, sent to the CAWP call supervisor),
• by 10 March 2021: the final version of the application i.e. the full version of the application (electronic version sent as a PDF file with a qualified signature or acceptance by e-mail or in the form of a scan with signatures - signatures required Principal Investigator and the Dean of the Faculty, or as appropriate to the specifics of the unit).

Please save the final version of the application as a PDF file, giving the name according to the formula: Surname and first name of the project manager, name of the program, date of the document (Kowalski_Jan_MEiN_Najlepsi z najlepszych_10-03-2021).
