Description of the call: Twinning aims to significantly strengthen a particular field of research of the developing institution by establishing links with at least two institutions, which in this area have a leading position at the international level. It will be a kind of network cooperation based on the presented scientific strategy for intensifying and stimulating the ability of scientific and innovative excellence in a specific field of research using the scientific excellence of partners involved in the implementation of the project in the Twinning scheme. A reference to the national or regional Smart Specialization Strategy will be desirable.
Supported activities: short staff exchanges, expert visits and short on-site and virtual training. Workshops, participation in conferences, organization of summer schools, promotional and promotional activities. No financing of infrastructure, equipment and research costs is foreseen.
Consortium: minimum 3 participants:
- A research unit from a country whose Cumulative Excellence Research Index is below 70% of the EU average. This unit will play the role of a coordinator.
- A minimum of two excellent scientific units (world leaders in their field) from a European or associated country other than the coordinator.
