Purpose of the call:

The main goal of which is to increase the use of the results of socio-economic research in shaping national and regional development policies by 2028.

General terms:

  • Only consortia consisting of research units, enterprises and implementing entities may enter the competition (composed of a minimum 3 and a maximum of 5 entities).
  • The leader must implement the solution resulting from the project implementation in practice.
  • Transfer of the property rights held to the project results resulting from the project between the Consortium Leader or the consortium members takes place for remuneration corresponding to the market value of these rights.
  • NCBiR grants co-financing for the implementation of projects that include: basic research, industrial research, development works, pre-implementation works. A project with no pre-implementation works will not be subsidized.
  • As part of the competition, applications may be submitted that include:
    • Phase A, under which it is possible to finance basic research, industrial research and development works,
    • Phase B, within which it is possible to finance only pre-implementation works.
  • The project may involve phase A and phase B, or just phase B.

  • The maximum project implementation period is 36 months.

  • The project may concern only one research topic (Annex 3 to the Regulations).

  • The minimum value of the the project's eligible costs is PLN 1 million, and a maximum value PLN 6 million.

  • Indirect costs are settled on a flat-rate basis and amount to 25% of total direct costs (without subcontracting costs).

Form of submitting applications:

Grant applications may only be submitted in electronic form via the LSI IT system, available at: lsi.ncbr.gov.pl.

Deadline for application:

7 July 2021, until 4:00 p.m.

In connection with the above, the application in electronic form should be sent only after obtaining the approval of the University authorities on the final version of the application. Information on approval of the application by the JU authorities will be provided by the call supervisor at CAWP.

JU Internal regulations:

  1. In connection with the provisions of the project co-financing agreement (Annexes 16 and 17 to the competition regulations), which assume joint liability of partners for the implementation of the project, it obliges authors / Principal Investigators to submit their willingness to participate in the call in advance.

Preliminary declarations of participation in the competition, together with information containing the title of the project, planned consortium composition, scope of work for the Jagiellonian University and the planned budget, including the part for the Jagiellonian University, should be submitted by e-mail by 1 June 2021 to the address of the call supervisor at CAWP.

On the basis of your declarations, the JU authorities will make a decision on further application in the call for proposal. The CAWP call supervisor will inform you about the JU Authorities decision.

  1. After obtaining approval for the planned project, in accordance with the Directive No. 56 of the JU Rector of 11 July  2016 on:  Regulations for the preparation and implementation of projects financed from external sources at the Jagiellonian University, please submit them to CAWP:
  • by 9 June 2021 to Mr. Tomasz Guzik, tomasz.d.guzik@uj.edu.pl, tel. 12 663 38 52,
    • draft agreement -  if the JU acts as a partner in the project and the leader has his own model of agreement,
    • guidelines for the agreement - where the JU acts as Project Leader, to prepare a model agreement for the consortium,
  • by 25 June 2021:
    • the draft version of the application (an electronic version sent as a PDF file to the address of the CAWP call supervisor) to verify compliance with the rules of the competition and formal compliance
    • the Research and implementation project notification Form and the Assessing the VAT Eligibility Form completed and submitted in the electronic system of the JU Project Zone, available at: https://strefaprojektow.uj.edu.pl/. Instruction how to complete the forms is available at the following website: https://cawp.uj.edu.pl/strefaprojektow,
  • by 1 July 2021 - the final version of the application (electronic version sent as a PDF file with qualified signature or a paper version with signatures)– signatures required: the Principal Investigator and the Dean of the Faculty or according to the specificity of the unit.
